2026 Challenge – One thing every WEEK that scares you (almost)

2026 Challenge – One thing every WEEK that scares you (almost)

Eleanor Roosevelt said: “Do one thing every day that scares you.

I’m doing one thing every week that scares me. (Let’s be realistic. I’m Gen X, not superhuman, and don’t get scared that easily.)

Not life-threatening scary. Not “quit your job and join a circus” scary. Just uncomfortable-enough-to-make-me-grow scary.

Why? Because after years of helping people prepare for retirement, I’ve noticed something: the ones who thrive aren’t the ones who played it safe. They’re the ones who kept pushing their boundaries, even when it was uncomfortable.

Retirement preparation isn’t just about your bank account. It’s about being someone who can adapt, who stays curious, who doesn’t let overthinking run the show.

So I’m practicing what I preach. Cold water. New skills. Difficult conversations. Whatever makes my stomach flip a little.

I’ll document everything here – the wins, the spectacular fails, the “what was I thinking?” moments. Not because I’m brave (I’m not), but because I want to prove that growth happens when we stop overthinking and just do the thing.

Want to join? Pick one thing each week that scares you. Then do it anyway.

Let’s see what happens when we get out of our own way.
